Instructor Jason Brisbin

Jason started his fencing career with the University of Nebraska-Omaha fencing club in the Spring of 2009, training under Alex Bucevicius.  Jason continued his training with Patrick Desimio and the Omaha Fencing Club, along with training at the Lincoln Fencing Club. Jason gained his coaching skills assistant coaching with the UNO fencing club under Alex, and the Omaha Fencing Club under Patrick. In December of 2009 he gained his moniteur certification from the United States Fencing Coaches Association.

He is currently head coach and president of the UNO fencing club, along with coaching classes with OFC and is a member of the Omaha Fencing Club board of directors. Jason is experienced in all three weapons and is primarily a foil coach. He trains both recreational and competitive members.

Jason comes from a competitive background earning two Nebraska state wrestling metals and participating on the Grand Island Senior High School football team, participating in 5 state playoff games over 4 years. In college Jason began to participate in judo and ballroom dancing in addition to fencing. He is currently attending the University of Nebraska-Omaha and plans to pursue a career in physical therapy.  Jason is currently holding a Regents Scholarship at UNO.

Jason enjoys a variety of hobbies including hunting, fishing, and knitting.
